To get the funky smell (and strange taste) off of the new seat cover we washed it on the gentile cycle with regular detergent. The grey cloth center section of the seat cover split at all of the seams around the belt holes. This was not a problem with the original cover that was all the plush material. I suspect the problem has only to do with the covers with the cloth...
