My 12 month old was drinking from it last night and playing with the mouth piece as expected. He bit the mouth piece while drinking and playing with it as all children do in this learning /exploratory stage and a large chunk came off the tip. Thank goodness he did not swallow it. This could have been a horrible choking hazard accident., I've had numerous sippy cups as I'm in the process of transferring my second daughter off the bottle (and I have to admit that I buy several different kinds in hopes of finding the 'magic' one she'll take). This is among the worst. It clearly doesn't have any kind of air vent system (besides the term 'vent' on the label), so literally every time a drink is taken, the nipple implodes due to the vacuum created during drinking.
